Portraits painted in the very best traditions of oil on canvas, with time-honoured techniques and materials. They are built up in several layers using the finest pigments and hand-made glazes to achieve a rich and atmospheric naturalism. A well crafted portrait is a moment in time with timeless appeal. A unique gift and an heirloom that will last for generations. I undertake commissions from my home studio in Sevenoaks, Kent. More than a likeness...
People, children especially, are seldom still for long! When they are not sleeping, they are perpetually in motion, working, playing, exploring, thinking, adding to their experience of the world, engaged in a hundred and one different activities, mental and physical.
When I paint a portrait, my aim is to achieve more than just a likeness: I try to convey a sense of the character, the environment, the daily life, the loves, pleasures or pursuits of the one I am painting, so that the portrait becomes a record not just of the face, but of the whole person!
Fine Art Commission is an agency which represents the most talented and consistent portrait painters, from established ‘names’ to talented newcomers. Our gallery is in central London where we have a rolling exhibition of over 30 examples of commissions. You can also visit the website www.fineartcommissions.com. It costs no more to commission through us than if you went direct to the artist. Our artists pay us to market their work once they gain a commission. The advantage for you is the personal service we offer, over fourteen years of experience and back up during the whole process.
