One week left to the close of Christie’s ‘Heroes at Highclere’ auction

One week left to the close of Christie’s ‘Heroes at Highclere’ auction

With another season of Downton Abbey’s post-Edwardian splendour and hijinks set to hit our screens this autumn, Christie’s have a range of Downton pieces up for auction.

The online charity auction ‘Heroes at Highclere’ commemorates the 100th anniversary of the First World War and offers pieces from the show as well as experiences at Highclere Castle, the Jacobean estate where the period drama is filmed.

Fans of the show can bid on items including Lady Mary’s sterling silver sautoir necklace (below), an overnight stay in the ladies quarters of the house and a cooking lesson in Highclere’s very own kitchen.

Bidding closes on 14th August and money will be donated to charities such as The Royal British Legion and Combat Stress.

And, if like us you are in eager anticipation, take a behind the scenes peek at how the sets are made in our September issue.

Heroes at Highclere’ auction is open for online bidding until 14th August. For more information go to
