Heads up: this weekend sees the world’s biggest celebration of headwear and millinery
The UK’s first ever Hat Festival will take place in the West Dorset town of Bridport this weekend.

Bridport Hat Festival from 17th-19th September is being staged by gentleman’s outfitter T Snooks (30-32 West Street, 01308 458224), which has been selling hats, snuff, winceyette pyjamas and other must-have accessories for the well-dressed gentleman since 1896.

‘We want to revive the lost art of hat-wearing and remind people just how stylish wearing a hat can be,’ says owner Roger Snook.

As well as talks and millinery demonstrations, there will be concerts, workshops and competitions. There will also be a hat market and an exhibition of hats on loan from Stoke Museums. For more information, phone 01308 458224 or visit bridporthatfest.org.
