H&A’s Alice Roberton enjoys a spot of shopping at this annual fair
H&A’s Alice Roberton enjoys a spot of shopping over the bank holiday weekend
This annual fair always attracts an enthusiastic crowd of hardy vintiquers looking for homewares, curios, textiles and handmade goods and luckily the traders always come up-trumps with some fabulous bargains and unusual finds. While H&A
agent Jacquie Robinson was selling her vintage homewares, the September issue
and magazine subscriptions I took the opportunity for a proper look around and a little shopping of my own. I’ve been looking for a white and blue bread bin for my weavers cottage dresser for years so I was delighted with my find!
Jacquie was trading next to Linda Baker of Vintage Alice, who describes her business as ‘an ever changing emporium of vintage treasures and handmade vintage-inspired gifts’. Naturally, I loved the name!
Organisers of The Cotswolds Vintage Fair
, Kristina Horne and Julie Bircher were brought together by their love of making, knitting and crochet and have
have been trading together as Yarnit for several years. They were thrilled with how the day went.
Penelope Menato’s stand Rosablue
handmade originals and the lovely mix of colourful digitally-printed cushion covers alongside the maps looked fabulous.
It was lovely to meet Sally Harper and Ella Kelly who were so pleased to have come to the fair, they are already plotting their autumn fair visits and can’t wait for October’s Vintage & Handmade
in Chipping Sodbury.
readers John and Julia Wykes from Stratford-upon-Avon were enjoying a day out of vintage shopping, followed by lunch: ‘This 1930s Lyons Bros horse we’ve bought for £30 from Vintage Treasures
was a real find and quite a treat, we can’t wait to get it home,’ said Julia.
Outside in the marquee I found Helen Rawcliffe from Cheltenham, with shopping partner Bryson (a minature Schnauzer), with a pretty painted mirror, destined for her bathroom, which she bought from Rosiebud Decorative Vintage
The whole fair was delightful with plenty to rummage through. These two shoppers seemed to be enjoying the delights of old issues and front covers of Women’s Own magazine.
Here’s our last fair in August, followed by our September line up. Do visit H&A at these fairs for great vintage homewares, handmade goods, the latest issue and great subscription offers.
