If you’re loving the restoration projects featured every month in H&A, you're sure to be inspired by new BBC programme Restoration Roadshow, which comes to our screens on Monday night.

The show sees a team of expert antique restorers travel around the country working on the heirlooms of the great British public. Presented by Antiques Roadshow favourite Eric Knowles, the programme follows the story of each treasure, from its forgotten place in the attic to its new lease of life.

‘You’ll be amazed at what we find under all those centuries of dirt and grime,’ says Eric. ‘I think viewers will be fascinated by the forensic process of antiques restoration.’

Highlighting the benefits of restoration, the show dismisses the idea that antiques lose their value after such work. And there are some incredible results: owners who were about to discard their damaged antiques fall in love with them again and, when it comes to deciding whether to sell for profit or keep their item for future generations, there are some tough decisions to be made.

Tune in to Restoration Roadshow at 6.30pm on BBC Two, every Monday to Thursday for five weeks starting 9th August.
