Come to this delightful H&A-sponsored event for the best decorative home and garden wares
Next week's Decorative Living Fair, which takes place on Thursday 8th May, is a highlight in the calendar of discerning shoppers. With a hand-picked roster of traders selling French furniture, vintage textiles, kitchenalia, plants, garden wares and handmade pieces, a breathtaking setting at Eridge Park in Kent and a stellar cafe, run by Blackbird Catering, this is an event not to miss.
For the second year running Homes & Antiques is proud to sponsor this special fair and after last year’s success, we will once again be hosting a schedule of topical talks, starting at 12pm in the dining room of the main house.
This year's schedule:
12pm - Styling Antique & Vintage - H&A stylist Kiera Buckley-Jones (pictured above on last year's stand) will show you how to mix old and new effectively in your home, plus how to display your collections in a fresh and modern way.
1pm - Summer Styling - Magazine stylist and author of five best-selling interiors books Selina Lake will share her inspiration for her latest book Outdoor Living and demonstrate styling ideas for summer garden parties and outside entertaining.
2pm - Great Interior Design Challenge Tales - Come and meet Sarah Moore (pictured above, sitting) from BBC Two’s Great Interior Design Challenge. See the mood boards and materials from the show and hear all the behind-the-scenes tales.
3pm - Virginia Woolf’s Garden - Embroiderer and textile designer Caroline Zoob, who lived at Monk's House for over a decade as a tenant of the National Trust, explores the role of the magical garden, which had such a significant place in the lives of Virginia and Leonard Woolf.
Both Caroline and Selina will be signing copies of their books after their talks.
Entry to the talks is free but do come and pick up a ticket from the H&A stand to ensure you get a seat.
Also available on the Homes & Antiques stand will be the latest issue of the magazine, a selection of back issues and a great subscription offer - 40 per cent off the shop price (£14.35 for six issues by direct debit), plus a delightful free Woven Oak canvas bag and a copy of our recently published Vintage Homes book. How could you resist that? We’ll also have gorgeous homewares and a few treats from our props cupboard for sale.
Last year’s best-dressed stand, as judged by Eridge Park's owner, the Marchioness of Abergavenny, was Nutley Antiques (above), but, as organiser Caroline Zoob says, ‘It’s always a very hard decision to make as the standard is so incredibly high.’ Come and judge for yourself this year and and be sure to say hello.
The Decorative Living Fair runs from 9.30am-5pm at Eridge Park, Eridge Green, Kent, TN3 9JT
