A textiles fair to coincide with Kaffe Fassetts’ stunning exhibition at The American Museum, Bath
As you may have guessed from our enthusiastic reporting of Dairy House Antique and Vintage Textiles Fair, we can't resist shopping for pretty fabrics.
Unsurprisingly then, we were thrilled to hear that The American Museum in Bath is set to host a textiles fair on Saturday 23rd August in partnership with Bath Textile Summer School.
The event will bring specialist textiles makers and retailers to the idyllic setting of Calverton Manor. With work on show from embroiderer Jenny Adin Christie (who worked on Kate Middleton's wedding veil), textile artist Kate Westcott, and Donna Flower, whose fabrics featured in our flower power fabrics feature in our August issue.
Avid textiles enthusiasts will also get the chance to browse through Mulberry silks, take a peak into a wide range of lace-making materials, and talk to specialist yarn retailers.
And, as if all that fabric wasn’t enough, the fair will coincide with the vibrant exhibition of quilt maker Kaffe Fassett’s extraordinary work which is on view until 2nd November.
To discover Kaffe Fassett’s most treasured object, take a look at our one-off interview with him in the August issue of H&A.
'The colourful world of Kaffe Fassett' is at The American Museum, Claverton, Bath, BA2 7BD until 2nd November. 01225460503; americanmuseum.org. The Textile Fair runs from 12pm to 5pm on 23rd August
