New art investigation series hits our screens on Sunday night

New art investigation series hits our screens on Sunday night

Antiques Roadshow presenter Fiona Bruce and paintings expert Philip Mould try to solve the mysteries behind some rather intriguing artworks in new show Fake or Fortune, which starts this weekend.

Their quest takes them to cities from New York to Cairo to unpick the clues behind stolen and contested works of art. They investigate a valuable watercolour found next to a dump, a possible Rembrandt and a 17th-century Dutch oil that could be a 20th-century fake.

In the first episode of this four-part series on Sunday (19th June), they examine a landscape bearing the name of Monet. Could it be a valuable original or is it a mischievous fake?
Tune in on Sunday nights at 7pm on BBC One.
