From festive Stuart Devlin works and musical instruments to Marilyn Monroe photographs and a fine collection of stamps, there's plenty on offer in the salerooms this week

Now is the time to invest in gold and silversmith Stuart Devlin’s work, a sure-bet antique of the future. This sale features many of the artist's pieces, including a collection of festive Christmas carol boxes that open to reveal scenes of such songs as ‘While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night’ (£200-£300). Also, look out for the 86-piece canteen of table silver from the 1970s/80s (£4,000-£6,000) and a chic 1960s salt and pepper caster with filigree globes (£600-£800).

This sale of nearly 1,000 lots features furniture, porcelain, glass, jewellery, paintings and clocks. In the silver section, we love the George III silver cow creamer (£800-£1200) and the 1920s silver cocktail shaker, not to mention the two owl pepper casters (£70-£100).

24th-26th November - The Great Britain Philatelic Collections of Lady Mairi Bury, Sotheby's, London
One of the finest collections of Great British postage stamps goes under the hammer in this sale. Lady Mairi Bury, who died last year aged 88, was regarded as the doyenne of female collectors in the Royal Philatelic Society. Her collection includes plates from which the penny black, the world's first stamp, was printed, and many fine examples from the period between King George V to Queen Elizabeth II.

25th November - Popular Culture: Film and Entertainment, Christie’s, South Kensington, London
From the original layout drawing of Mickey Mouse to Miss Greta Garbo’s original contract letter on Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Corporation headed paper, this sale has all manner of items for film fans. Other highlights include photographs and negatives of Marilyn Monroe and beautiful costume sketches.
