Time to get the winter woollies out: it's Wool Week

Savile Row suits, tartan rugs, teddies… wool comes in many guises and as the winter begins to take hold, we're glad to hear that wool will be getting some extra appreciation thanks to Wool Week, which runs until 20th October.

Seven days of events, classes and knitting demonstrations will be showing exactly what Britain’s 40,000-plus sheep farms have to offer.

John Lewis in London and Edinburgh will be leading the charge with free classes showing you how to make the trendiest knits, including knitted lace and the quintessential Christmas jumper. But our favourite event of Wool Week has to be the nationwide ‘PicKnits’: just grab some sarnies, your knitting needles and a rug (woollen, of course).

For more about how to sign up head to the Campaign for Wool website and to see some of our favourite wool products, click here.
