Following the notion that personal happiness can be improved through a beautiful home environment, healthy lifestyle and engagment with nature, his encouraging blog is a haven of cheerful ideas.@IgorJosif

'The best things in life are homemade,' reads the blurb on Elsie and Emma’s site. The pair run a blog that began as a just-for-fun project all the way back in 2007. Now the two young ladies run a team of four and share posts on crafts, recipes, fashion and decor, with a healthy dose of stunning interiors and even a glimpse into Elsie’s bathroom. Well worth checking out for a quick interiors fix.@abeautifulmess

Megan describes herself as 'not an interior designer', but judging by her beautiful home, we would have to disagree. Honey We're Home documents her space-sprucing progress room by room. Think a harmonious mix of high-end pieces, high street bargains and a touch of golden glamour. Her feminine office space pictured above is one of our favourites!@Honeywerehome

The secret to a happy marriage, according to H&A contributor Kate Watson-Smyth, is a bathroom with two separate sinks – something she’s lucky to have in her own gorgeous London home. When she’s not blogging and sharing her Objects of Design, Kate can also be found writing about interiors and design for the Financial Times. @katewatsonsmyth

From Delft in the Netherlands, Holly developed a love of interiors from watching her mother, who worked as a decorator, designer and renovator. Gardens in bloom

Journalist and writer Alexandra Campbell shares tips and tricks for maintaining her middle-sized garden (one fifth of an acre, to be precise). Tiny by countryside standards, but vast for a city dweller, she blogs with charm about the qualms of ride-on mowers, polytunnels and hedges for those with a garden size often overlooked. @midsizegarden

Dreaming of fresh vegetables, a flock of chickens and a simpler lifestyle, Erin Benzakein and her small family escaped the smog of the city and set up a small flower company in Skagit Valley, Washington, USA. This company has since blossomed into a thriving flower farm, design studio, learning centre and blog - with glorious photographs and floristry tips to boot. Picture lush, romantic and airy floral designs with tumbling peonies and wildflowers. @FloretFlwrFarm

At an organic smallholding on the banks of the River Otter in Devon, Mark Diacono grows all manner of global foods: Szechuan pepper, Japanese wineberries and even Vietnamese coriander. His blog is a treasure trove of beautiful pictures, daringly different recipes and fascinating stories from his gardening adventures. We love his books too. @MarkDiacono

Vegan Lucy started The Smallest Smallholding with her partner Rich, their cats and a flock of four former battery hens. Since 2006, they have gradually turned an overgrown patch of land into a thriving backyard smallholding, and the blog tracks the trials and tribulations of their quest. With recipes and gardening tips, this is a great blog for vegans and veggies. @smallestholding

The Rose Shed is the ultimate source for dreamy floral inspiration. Rachel is an independent florist, working from a studio at the bottom of her garden, and supplying blooms to weddings in Bristol, Bath and the Cotswolds. On her busy blog she regularly posts bouquet blooms from the weddings she has styled – all very Pinterest-worthy material. @TheRoseShed

For garden inspiration, look no further than Fennel & Fern, a blogging collective featuring inspiring photos of real gardens and handy tips such as a guide to composting. It’s not all gardening though – the blog also has some great botanical boozing recipes such as rhubarb champagne or gooseberry and elderflower cocktail. Cheers to that. @fennelandfern

Antiques addicts

Our 50 Best Blogs list wouldn’t be complete without our very own columnist and grande dame of antiques, Judith Miller. The antiques expert and author of numerous Miller's Guides keeps us updated with posts about her latest overseas adventures on book tours, as well as details on rare and extraordinary antiques. @millersantiques

Marian, aka Miss Mustard Seed, is a blogger, paint designer and full-time antiques enthusiast. Her beautifully calm and largely blue-hued blog is awash with tips for combining antique pieces with existing interiors to create an inviting family home. Proving that antiques are far from dull and fusty, Antiques Young Guns is a collective of under-40s who make their living from the world of antiques, vintage or collectables. Another of our favourite contributors, Mark Hill is so on the pulse of the antiques world we can barely keep up. An avid supporter of the Antique Young Guns movement, author of numerous books and curator of his own fascinating collection of glass, his blog highlights surprising and unusual stories from all over the antiques world from etching in New Zealand to Austrian art nouveau glass. @antiquemark

Cambridge-based Claire has an enviable collection of vintage English teacups and retro teapots. San Francisco-based Jordan puts the 'art' in 'parties' and is the ultimate resource for DIY party decorating. Californian Kate is a self-confessed ‘bargain-hunter, design-lover, incurable DIYer and mother to three’, yet somehow still finds time to write her own and two other blogs. Centsational Girl is full of design and DIY ideas from shelving to sewing to seasonal decorating. @CentsationalGrl

In her own words, Anne lives 'a happy handmade life'. An online directory of charming and simple designs, Flax & Twine is full of easy-to-follow instructions for homely pieces like tea towel aprons and chunky-knit cushion covers. Created in 2008, Cyd of The Sweetest Occasion has a real passion for colour, design and entertaining. From DIY Christmas presents to hosting an apple farm picnic, like the one above, (and a few killer cocktail recipes in-between), her blog is the perfect resource for the planners amongst us. @cydconverse

Food for thought

Finding the bizarre recipes in mid-century cookbooks curious, husband and wife team Ruth and Tom cook one bonkers mid-century recipe a week for dinner and document the whole experience on their blog. From delicious chocolate topping pie (c1952) to the not-so-wonderful canned grapefruit and crabmeat cocktail (c1959), they've sampled a whole timeline of dishes. Butternut squash puree and blue cheese pizza? Spinach-pesto pasta with roasted red peppers and ricotta? If California girl Erin’s recipes don’t make your mouth water, then we don’t know what will. Having grown up on McDonald’s, Erin says she ate fast food daily until her father had a heart attack at 45. An accidental creation in 2013 when Mark moved in with Michael, Symmetry Breakfast quickly became an online breakfast sensation. As busy working blokes, the only precious time they could spend together was over breakfast. Niamh, an Irish expat in London, is a busy lady – travelling, teaching cookery classes and reviewing restaurants. She still manages to dedicate time to this blog, where she shares wonderful recipes, including an incredible-looking Sunday breakfast of duck confit hash. Yum. @eatlikeagirl

Husband and wife team Dana and John are the creaters of Minimalist Baker. All recipes require 10 ingredients or fewer, one pan or bowl, under 30 minutess to prepare and are mostly plant-based and gluten-free. Alongside some real hunger-inducing photography, Dana's espresso walnut brownies are also seriously fudgy and delicious. @minimalistbaker

An accomplished chef, photographer, food stylist and cookbook author, Izy Hossack of Top With Cinnamon creates beautiful recipes ideal for impressing friends, like the decadent chocolate chip, pomegranate and hazelnut cake pictured above. When not blogging, she's also completing a degree in Food & Nutrition – and she's only 19! @izyhossack

Since starting in 2008, The Antiques Diva & Co has become Europe's largest antiques touring company, and offers one-on-one antiques buying tours to 11 different countries! Exploring culture through food, tradition and lifestyle, Loa of Geotraveler's Niche has certainly been bitten by the travel bug. This blog is packed with practical destination-orientated travel advice, alongside a wealth of beautiful pictures. Boasting 'travel is not about where you go, but how you see the world' designer Anne's travel blog is a feast for the eyes. As an American expat living in Paris, she offers an array of posts detailing the very best places to visit and see in Paris and France (all design-minded, of course). @pretavoyager

Vintage fashion fiends

If you’re planning a vintage wedding, this blog is the place to go for ideas. With testimonials from newlyweds and soon-to-be brides, it’s a one-stop shop for all kinds of ways to add vintage touches to your big day. Annabel founded Love My Dress in 2009 to provide inspiration to brides around the UK for vintage weddings. Who knew that the world's leading museum in art and design also had a blog? Often linking classic pieces in the museum to popular culture, the blog makes for a witty and intriguing read. Last but by no means least is H&A contributor Ellie Tennant. Blogging all the latest news from the design world, the London-based interiors journalist is a font of knowledge on the latest products, new collections and artistic finds.
