The best of the John Lewis Christmas collection

Not sure which decorations to invest in this Christmas? Take your lead from John Lewis' festive trend preview

Although it's still November, and we're yet to tuck into our first mince pie of the season, here in the world of magazines we've already got an eye the Christmas decorations that we'd like to invest in this year.

To get an idea of what's in store, we headed along to the John Lewis preview to see what the high street favourite has planned for the festive seaon. From woodland-inspired looks to glistening ice-toned shades, here are some of our favourite looks looks from the Yuletide collection.

Happy shopping!

FOLKLORE

One of the biggest Christmas looks this year, John Lewis' 'Folklore' trend is inspired by a traditional Eastern European Christmas. Look out for lovely hand-embroidered decorations, soft textures and sprigs of berries and foliage.

'Sophia' spruce tree 7ft, £250
Design Project 'no.22' coffee table, £279
'Barbican' large 3 seater sofa, £1,199

WINTER PALACE

Strewn with twinkling lights, peacock feathers and diamante baubles, embrace glittering ice-toned shades this Christmas with this Russian-inspired look.

'St Petersburg' blue tree 7ft, £250
Hudson Living 'Maison' tufted dining chair, £329

INTO THE WOODS

We love the swathes of greenery and little embellished insects in this woodland-inspired collection. It's reminiscent of the rugged landscape and traditional folklore found in rural Ireland.

Pre-lit 'Kensington' tree 7ft, £250
Frosted moss wreath, £20
'Mossy' dead head hanger, £25
Content by Terence Conran 'Accents' round side tables, set of 3, £390

LIMA LLAMA

Quirky and oh-so fun, this bright and bold collection draws on the vibrancy of Peruvian festivals. And we adore the pom-pom garlands as an alternative to ribbon or tinsel!

'Peruvian' pine tree 7ft, £195
John Lewis 'Llama' cushion, £30
Anglepoise 'Type 75' desk lamp in Seagrass, £119
'Jingle Bell' star hanger, £5

MITSUKO

Sleek and grown-up, the Mitsuko collection features plenty of gold, siver and copper hues, interlaced with art deco fans and hexagonal shapes. It also nods to the ancient art of shadow puppetry.

'Serbian' blue spruce tree 7ft, £175
Design project by John Lewis 'No.004' highboard, £950
Tom Dixon 'Tank' jug, £85
