Christie's partners with Fiona Leahy for Interiors sale

Take inspiration from Fiona Leahy's beautiful festive table, illustrated using lots from an upcoming Christie's Interiors sale

In our books, planning and decorating the Christmas day table is one of the most enjoyable activities of the festive season. Getting to choose beautiful crockery, cutlery and candles - before adorning it all with choice crackers, favours and fragrant swathes of fresh greenery: heaven.

And that's exactly what luxury event planner Fiona Leahy did, except rather than using her usual collection of ceramics and glassware, she was given free-reign in the Christie's storage facility, ahead of its lavish Interiors sale on 28th November.

Leahy now runs a creative design events agency, but her first foray into the world of events was designing the wedding of American model and burlesque star, Dita von Teese. Since then, she has become the go-to celebrity party planner, crafting opulent soirées for luxury fashion and lifestyle brands such as Louis Vuitton, and planning events several members of the Middle Eastern royal family.

Pictured above, Leahy's festive table will be on display at Christie's King Street headquarters throughout the duration of the sale, and she's also hosting an extra-special table decorating demonstration on 27th November. The table features some of Leahy's favourite lots from the Interiors sale, spot a 20th century St Louis 'thistle' pattern table service (est £3,000-£5,000), plus a pair of late 19th century French ormolu and amethyst cut glass tazze (est £4,000-£6,000).

The Christie's Interiors sale (including ski posters and a collection of bronzes by Dylan Lewis) takes place 28th November 2017. 020 7839 9060; christies.com
