Escape to the Chateau returns to Channel 4 for a fourth series this Sunday, and sees Dick and Angel Strawbridge continue to renovate their 19th-century chateau in France.

It's now three years since Dick and Angel swapped their flat in Southend for an ancient chateau in the Pays de la Loire region of France. Costing them just £280,000 to buy (less than the value of the flat that they left behind), they've taken great strides in restoring their home to its former glory: making improvements to the run-down interiors and completing important exterior works to protect the chateau from the elements.

This series sees the creative couple continue to explore their extensive estate and begin renovation works on the old stables, destined to become home to Angel's parents before the year is out. The chateau's events business also continues to grow: with a packed diary of weddings and weekend retreats to keep Dick and Angel on their toes.

In episode one, visit the Chateau de la Motte Husson in high summer, as Dick & Angel prepare for seven weddings and 14 food lovers' weekends. With over half of the chateau's 45 rooms now complete, Angel turns her attention to the dilapidated back staircase - where she creates beautiful padded walls using materials inspired by the 19th century French wallpapers that she discovered in the attic. Meanwhile, Dick focuses on renovating the old stables, soon to become a granny flat for Angel's parents.

Series 4 of Escape to the Chateau starts on Sunday 18th March at 8pm on Channel 4. Learn more about Dick and Angel's historic home, Chateau de la Motte Husson, here.
