Mystery object

As you’d expect, the recent Antiques Roadshow filming at Chatsworth House yielded all sorts of surprises but none as great as the mystery surrounding this unidentified object.

Owner Mary Clayton had travelled to two Roadshows and seen countless experts – all as baffled as each other. The final expert she consulted, Judith Miller, hit on the genius idea of asking H&A readers for their help.

a yarn wheel. collapses for travel, used when seperating and rolling fibers into yarn for weaving.

Could it be part of a 19th Century tent frame, a roof  end section posibly.
