Old School Vintage’s Stourhead Vintage Fair, Wiltshire

Devoted vintiquers braved the weekend’s soaring temperatures for a spot of shopping in gorgeous National Trust grounds

Last Sunday (7th July), Old School Vintage held their second fair at the National Trust’s idyllic Stourhead House & Gardens; a perfect mix of beauty, heritage and shopping! The courtyard Memorial Hall provided a bright and airy space for an eclectic mix of traders selling all manner of vintage, antique and upcycled homewares, furniture, clothing and jewellery.
Friends Clare Connor and Rachael Paterson, visiting from London, always combine weekends away with scouring local charity shops, vintage fairs and antique markets, so the day at Stourhead ticked all the boxes.
Trader Judi Dicker’s collecting interest was fuelled a couple of years ago by winning ‘letter of the week’ in H&A. 'It made me realise just how much I’ve learnt from the magazine and it gave me the confidence to start selling,’ said Judi. It was great to see ‘The Kitchenware Addicts’ feature (July issue) displayed alongside her colourful kitchenalia too.
Hattie Ouroussoff of Hat's House & Home sells fabulous upcycled pieces with a modern twist, as well as soft furnishings and these rather lovely bold-stripe cotton tea towels. ‘I sampled a 1930s colour card to get that popular retro look,’ she explained.
Sharon Bright recently moved from the USA to nearby garrison town Larkhill and was looking for inspiration for her new family home. 'A subscription to H&A is just what I need to give me ideas of how to create a lovely English home,’ she enthused. She also bought this sweet little pot from the H&A stand which matched her outfit perfectly!
Going on the belief that everything should have two uses (pretty and functional), I was very attracted to Daisy Darling’s soya candles in jelly moulds and jugs - what a fab idea!

This is where you’ll find H&A selling the latest issue of the magazine, great subscription offers and other lovely wares throughout July.
