Artist Howard Hodgkin's collection of Indian paintings is on display at the Ashmolean in Oxford
As you will know from the regular collecting stories in Homes & Antiques magazine, many of us have a weakness for something in particular.
For abstract painter Howard Hodgkin it’s Indian paintings, and he has amassed one of the finest collections – over 100-strong – of these works in the world, dating from c1550-1850. It is currently on display in its entirety at the Ashmolean in Oxford until 22nd April, in ‘Visions of Mughal India: The Collection of Howard Hodgkin’.
Colourful Indian art and antiques are big news this year, so we heartily recommend a visit.
