René Lalique: Designs in Glass, Bonhams, New Bond Street, London, 16th November

Exquisite works by one of the finest glassmakers in history go under the hammer at this top sale.

René Lalique designed distinctive opalescent art deco glassware as well as intricate jewellery and architectural glass. Lots include vases, perfume bottles, bowls, car mascots, clocks and lighting - showing off the breadth of his repetoire.

Particularly impressive is the 1922 'Oiseau de Feu' illuminated centrepiece, pictured, expected to realise £36,000-£46,000. This piece features in a new book on the life and work of Lalique by Antiques Roadshow expert Eric Knowles.
