Identifying furniture ?

Postby mikey » Wed Oct 14, 2009 1:00 pm

I have inherited my grandparents dining table & sideboard - we think its 1940's.
Can anyone help identify it. I don't want to sell it (sentimental reasons) just want to know what it is if anything.

Thanks in advance

Hi Mikey. It's going to be difficult to identify them without a picture. Could I suggest you take a good photograph and send it in to the Roadshow experts for our 'ask the experts' feature? Questions can only be answered through the magazine, and the better quality the photograph the more likely it will be answered. Full instructions can be found on p118 of the November issue.

All best

Please provide the picture of furniture in order to recognize it. You can do this by using the BB code while replying / posting a new thread . First upload the picture somewhere on the image uploading website like imageshak then copy the location/url of the image and paste it in between image code. Hope now you'll be able to do that.

When trying to identify antique furniture, dedicated antiques hunters search for beautifully preserved pieces, armed with pins, magnifying glasses, spirit levels and all sorts of testing equipment.

Queries may just end up being clarified with the journal, and also the much better high quality the actual picture the much more likely it will likely be clarified.
