From bunnies to bees, yellow shades to floral designs, the best way to bring the sun out at Easter (regardless of the weather forecast) is to indulge your inner child and pick out some fun Easter finds.
While today the Easter bunny delivers chocolate eggs, according to folklore the tradition derives from the pagan goddess of spring and fertility, Eostre. The story goes that Eostre turned a dying bird into a rabbit to save its life. However, the rabbit continued to lay eggs and lovingly decorated these to show its gratitude.
It is from this story that the exchange of chocolate and painted eggs, decorating of boiled eggs, and focus on birds and rabbits came to be so popular. At the court of the Russian tsars this was taken to gilded extremes by the commissioning of fabulous eggs from the jeweller Fabergé each Easter.
