When Gillian Naylor and Mark Faulkner – then fresh out of college – established their design-led pottery business Repeat Repeat in Stoke-on-Trent in 1984, they knew their British base and hands-on approach would stand them in good stead.

‘If you manufacture in China, you have to design months ahead,’ explains Gillian. ‘If we wanted, we could design something today and have it made and ready in a fortnight.’

The brand’s winning combination of traditional techniques and contemporary designs hasn’t gone unnoticed, with big names such as The Conran Shop and Selfridges eager to stock the distinctive tableware. For more information and to see the latest collection, which unites classic bone china and striking 3-D relief work, log on to repeatrepeat.co.uk or call 01782 845870.
