The Collection of Will Fisher: Founder of Jamb, Christie's, South Kensington, London, 2nd February
Not many six-year-olds claim Fifteen Famous English Homes by Randolph S Churchill to be their favourite reading matter. Will Fisher, however, was no average child and went on to turn his childhood obsession into a successful career as a leading London antiques dealer, starting his company, Jamb, at the age of 25.

Today, his home and business are overflowing with chimney pieces, English and Irish furniture, natural history artefacts and sculpture. 'When I struggled through the front door recently with a 9ft giraffe head and shoulders, my wife was moved to question what part of having two children under five I didn't understand. I saw her point,' he laughs.

Christie’s South Kensington will be auctioning 500 objects, with estimates from £500 to £120,000, including a large enamel sign for the News of the World (estimate: £800-£1,200) and, as the top lot, a George II verde antico and statuary marble chimney piece attributed to Isaac Ware (estimate: £80,000-£120,000).
