Spring Sale, Tennants Auctioneers, The Auction Centre, Leyburn, North Yorkshire, 22nd-24th March
A miniature model of a dog in a glass dome (£400-£600), a giant clam (£400-£600) and a collection of scorpions (£100-£150) are just some of the intriguing lots going under the hammer at this bumper three-day sale. This auction of nearly 2,000 items also includes a traditional assortment of silver, jewellery, paintings and furniture. But we feel it's the taxidermy and natural history pieces that will attract the most interest, in particular the trays upon trays of mixed seashells and a comprehensive moth collection in a 45-drawer chest (£700-£1,000) - perhaps the only time you'd be happy to open up a drawer and find quite so many insects in it.
