New Dairy House owners host a mix of regular and visiting traders at this special yearly event

Trix Hewlett and Debbie Jeffery, the proud new owners of Dairy House Antiques in Semley, Dorset, hosted 18 pop-up traders to sell alongside their 20 in-house dealers at the 4th Annual Vintage Textile & Costume Day at the antiques centre on Sunday. With a roaring log fire on the go, they welcomed visitors to their maze of floors and corridors packed with vintage and antique delights.
The Dairy House has a surprise around every corner and, with its comfortable room sets, cosy lighting and shelves over-flowing with textiles and curiosities, you almost want to move in.
Betty Lloyd, along with her friend Debbie Beattie, was on the hunt for something special for her daughter's wedding and was delighted to find this lovely 1920s French veil from Elegance Maison.
Jewellery designer Gill Smoulders was rather taken with this interesting French sewing stand that she spotted on Elaine Kirsch’s stall. ‘I think I’m going to use it to display and store jewellery,’ she said.
Personally, I was taken with this amazing 1939 wallpaper sample book full of the most exquisite designs. It reminded me of using sample books to paper my dolls house when I was a little girl.
Regular Dairy House visitors, Claire Shaddick and Spence Gunn, had seen this sturdy vanity mirror featured in Homes & Antiques months back and were delighted to find me selling it - they promptly snapped it up! ‘We plan to have it just inside our back door to use for keys and gloves,’ they said.
In addition to the textile and costume focus of the day there were lots of lovely homewares and brocante-style finds to be had. Wilton florist Pauline Church of Paloma Lily Flowers picked up these enamel jugs to use as props.
This event really is a one-stop-shop for those wishing to give their home a special vintage makeover, so keep an eye out for further events as the new owners have lots of plans!
