Due to the spread of coronavirus, there is currently an increased likelihood that fairs and auctions may be cancelled or postponed. Please do check with event organisers before you travel.

It was announced this morning that The Chelsea Antiques Fair and the Art & Antiques for Everyone Fair at the NEC have been cancelled due to the Covid-19 outbreak that has affected the UK.

The Chelsea fair was scheduled to take place at the Chelsea Old Town Hall on the King’s Road from 18th-20th March. Organiser Caroline Penman made the tough decision after talks with exhibitors, contractors and the venue management. 'I'm sorry to have to make this decision at such a late stage but many exhibitors have contacted me to express their nervousness at the current situation in London. As a result, I have decided the event cannot go ahead in the interests of our exhibitors, contractors and visitors'.

Dan Leyland, fair organiser of the Art & Antiques for Everyone event that was planned for 2nd-5th April at Birmingham NEC, explained that the decision was made to protect those in the high-risk category of coronavirus. 'We are, of course, hugely disappointed, especially since so much preparation has already taken place. Now we are looking forward to working with our dealers towards a successful summer event'.
