Bridgerton season two hits our screens this week, but what does the series entail, and will there be a season 3?

The long awaited return of Bridgerton is just around the corner. The first season of the period drama went down a treat with viewers, racking in a massive viewing of 82 million households, breaking records as the most watched Netflix series at the time, It's now been overtaken by Squid Game, but Bridgerton still remains number 2 on Netflix for its first season.

When will Bridgerton season 2 be released?

Bridgerton season 2 will be released on Netflix on the 25th March.

What is Bridgerton season 2 about?

The Bridgerton series' are based on the books by Julia Quinn. Each series follows a different book in the series, each one telling the story of a Bridgerton sibling. Season one was based on The Duke & I telling Daphne & Simon's story, and season two is based on the second book, The Viscount Who Loved Me, which tells the story of Anthony, the oldest of the Bridgerton siblings.

Who is the cast for Bridgerton season 2?

Many familiar faces from season 1 will be returning, as well as a few new faces. Jonathan Bailey will be returning as Anthony, alongside new co-star Simone Ashley who will be playing his love interest, Kate Sharma. Alongside Simone, Shelley Conn, who plays Kate's mother, will also be joining the cast. The Bridgerton family will all be returning, including Phoebe Dynevor who plays Daphne. We will not, though, be seeing the return of Regé-Jean Page who played the Duke in season one.

Will there be a Bridgerton season 3?

It has been confirmed by Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan, who plays Penelope Featherington, that there will be a season 3. Filming is set to start in Summer, and will follow Benedict Bridgerton, the second eldest sibling.
