African oasis
It was an enchanting early 20th-century botanical garden in Marrakech that first drew our homeowner’s attention to this plot in 1980. A true toast of haute couture, his love of beauty meant that, after hearing the land was earmarked for retail development, he bought it. With his long-time partner, they purchased the adjoining villa too, Villa Oasis, and set about restoring it into a fashionable sanctuary. Inside is a riot of bold colour, elaborate tilework, marble flooring, woven rugs, gilded chandeliers and decorative examples of fine craftsmanship.
