January – A room adorned in red

This period medieval manor, dating to 1420, promises drama and intrigue. Its eclectic architecture reflects the tastes of its past owners, one of whom, pioneering and enigmatic, was regarded by many as an oddity – they would spend much of their time journalling in the study. This dark and masculine house has many oak-panelled rooms where clandestine meetings were held and codes set and solved. Many secrets lie within – this room provided a place where one
could lock oneself away.
