Laura Wallace is a Yorkshire-based artist, who has had solo exhibitions ranging from London to Scotland, as well as more recently in her home county. Her style is distinctive. She is hugely influenced by the 20th-century Scottish Colourists as well as the Impressionists – and particularly Cezanne’s use of complementary colour and the fragility of Manet’s final flower paintings. Working predominantly in oil, her bold use of hue and generous application of paint make for a rich finish.
The artist has recently launched a range of printed items, available on her website. The Laura Wallace Collection includes new canvases that are hand-finished with a clear-drying acrylic glaze, producing contours and strokes that could easily be mistaken for an original work, at a fraction of the price.
To introduce Homes & Antiques readers to her work, Laura is offering you the chance to win one of her beautiful original oil paintings, Roses and Lilac (measuring 54cm x 52cm) worth £2,595. For more information, visit laurawallace.co.uk
