This morning, paint brand Dulux has announced its Colour of the Year for 2020 as Tranquil Dawn. A calming tonic to Spiced Honey – the rich, brown hue which was the ‘it’ colour of 2018 – this misty, green shade embodies the nation’s desire to be human in a time when technological advances make us feel increasingly disconnected from each other.
Cool and calming, Tranquil Dawn is the perfect shade to inject personality to an industrial kitchen.
‘A new decade heralds a new dawn and the hazy pale green tones of Tranquil Dawn are calming and comforting just when we need it most in our lives. When paired with neutral pastels and rich jewels it becomes incredibly powerful at creating spaces that encourage making better human connections,’ explains Marianne Shillingford, Creative Director of Dulux UK.
Create a zen-like den with soft cow hide rugs, soothing lighting and a cosy, upholstered armchair…
This chic shade has been selected by an expert team of designers, trend forecasters, architects and editors, and comes with four supporting trend palettes of complementary paint colours. ‘The colours within all palettes including Tranquil Dawn have been inspired by the changing sunrises that paint the sky in different seasons and have been designed to make decoration with Colour of the Year simple,’ says Marianne.
