At the start of every new season of courting, dancing and promenading, every young lady being introduced finds themselves presented before Queen Charlotte, in hopes of becoming the season's Diamond. But so far, we have very little information about her and how she became Queen. We've seen a few hints, particularly in season two when her unwell husband makes a couple of appearances, but we'd certainly like to know more.
For those viewers intrigued by Charlotte's story, you'll be please to hear that there will be a Bridgerton spin-off; a prequel telling Charlotte's story from young lady to Queen. Here's everything we know so far...
When will the Bridgerton spin-off be released?
There's been no official word on a release date for the Bridgerton spin-off, although filming has begun. We had a two-year wait between season one and season two of the series, but as it stands, no one is sure if we will see season three in 2024 or if its release will be delayed in order to air the prequel.

Who will be in the Bridgerton spin-off?
Although the prequel is yet to be titled, Shondaland (the producer) has revealed some of the main cast members who will be making an appearance. Viewers will be happy to hear Golda Rosheuvel will still be playing Queen Charlotte, alongside Ruth Gemmell who plays Violet Bridgerton and Adjoa Andoh who portrays Lady Danbury.
There will also be some new faces playing the roles of the same characters in their younger years. India Amarteifio has been announced as young Queen Charlotte who will no doubt have many interactions with young Lady Danbury, who will be played by Arsema Thomas, following hints in the series of their friendship in earlier years.
We'll also be sing a lot more of King George in the prequel. He has made some appearances in the main series, now an unwell man who seems somewhat isolated from society. The young king will be played by Corey Mylchreest, and we will hopefully find out a lot more about how they met and their early life together.
